Advance Flight Performance

The Intel® Falcon™ 8+ drone is designed to provide consistent, stable flights in the face of external influences like weak GPS signals and high winds as well as providing resistance to magnetic field disturbances. Lightweight with best weight-to-payload ratio for efficient flights, it allows you to collect incredibly accurate, high-quality, geo-referenced, actionable data, while operating in challenging environments.

Precision Data

With professional payload options the Intel® Falcon™ 8+ drone can provide detailed data for orthography and 3D reconstruction, with millimeter accuracy for ground sample distance (GSD). The unique, patented V-shaped design helps ensure unobstructed data capture and enables a greater than 180 degree view from top to bottom for a range of perspectives, from one camera, in one flight. And for data privacy, the Falcon 8+ system can be configured as a closed system with isolated, on-board data storage that does not transmit data over the public internet.

Best in Class Safety

The Intel® Falcon™ 8+ UAV is designed for superior safety with industry-leading electronic and hardware system redundancy. The AscTec* Trinity Control Unit provides three redundant IMUs, for quick and reliable data fusion, which verifies and controls the drone’s position, altitude, and orientation, for better responsiveness and stability during flights. It also features additional redundancies for communications, batteries, rotors, and motors.

Ready to Travel

Rugged for commercial jobs but compact for ultimate mobility, the Intel® Falcon™ 8+ system features high quality industrial design for professional use. Payloads are easily exchangeable in the field, and Intel® Powerpack Batteries are designed for portability on airline flights.

Inspection Payload

The Inspection Payload simultaneously delivers real-color, time-stamped, and georeferenced RGB and 14-bit RAW thermal images. It consists of two cameras mounted in parallel on one gimbal, a full sensor RGB camera and the FLIR Tau 2 640 camera.

Sony Alpha 7R

The Sony Alpha 7R* is a full-frame photo camera with an image resolution of 36 MP, which allows it to display even the finest details. It features 36 MP ISO 100-25.600, a 35 mm full-frame sensor, and no optical low pass filter.

 

The Intel® High Resolution Imaging Payload features the 42MP Sony RX1R II and captures stunning image detail and clarity. This payload supports the creation of highly precise 2D & 3D visualizations utilizing a 35-mm full frame sensor, ZEISS T lens and Bionz-X image processor.

Intel® Imaging Payload with Obstacle Avoidance

Equipped with Intel® RealSense™ technology, this payload supports obstacle avoidance capabilities to enhance safety and helps to optimize flight performance and precision for your commercial surveying and inspection missions. The payload features the 20MP Sony R10C* camera with an APS-C sensor which is capable of high quality image capture even in a variety of difficult lighting conditions. Time-stamped and geo-tagged information is automatically saved for each image, for easier data management. The payload is compatible with several lens options.
